Advanced French Theater Workshop

Advanced French Theater Workshop is a continuation of FRE/THR 211, French Theater Workshop. Students focus their work on three French playwrights: one classical, one modern, and one contemporary. The course will place emphasis on refining and improving students’ acting and oral skills. It will culminate in the presentation of the students ‘Travaux’ at the end of the semester.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Weekly readings in the course packet and careful preparation of scenes. One final term paper on the works and playwrights explored by students.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
Professor’s approval and/or one two-hundred level French course (preferably FRE 211/THR 211). To schedule an interview, interested students must contact the instructor, Florent Masse (fmasse@princeton.edu).

Other information:
Two class sessions supplemented by two weekly one-hour rehearsals.
