Introductory Sculpture

A studio introduction to sculpture, particularly the study of form, concept, fabrication and the influence of a wide variety of materials and processes on sculpture and its consequences. Students will develop an understanding of contemporary sculpture and a basic facilities in woodworking, metalworking, carving and casting.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Execution of a series of sculptural projects with a mind toward a sensitivity to material properties, problem solving and personal vision.
