As part of Tina Fehlandt’s spring dance course, “DAN 315 – Dance Techniques of the 20th Century: Dunham, Graham, Horton, Limon,” internationally-recognized master teacher and head of the Horton Program at the Ailey School Ana Marie Forsythe teaches the technique of Lester Horton in a master class for Princeton students. The class begins at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, in the Patricia and Ward Hagan ’48 Dance Studio at 185 Nassau Street. Open to Princeton students only (students — Feb. 17th is the last day of the Drop/Add period to take DAN315 for spring semester).

Ana Marie Forsythe began teaching the Horton technique in the 1960s and has devoted more than twenty years to documenting the Lester Horton technique. She is an internationally-recognized master teacher of the technique and has been invited to teach in more than a dozen countries. In preservation of the Horton technique, she co-authored The Dance Technique of Lester Horton, and was artistic director of three Horton videos documenting this important modern dance technique. She is the head of the Horton Program at the Ailey School.
