In our media-saturated world, it is impossible to escape that quintessential journalistic exercise, the interview. Politicians, artists, athletes, and the anonymous masses all take turns performing on its demanding stage. Intrusive and relaxed, combative and complacent, posthumous and imaginary, sententious and burlesque in turn, the interview is a game, a stage, a dance floor where two subjectivities meet. But, in the era of democratized chatter, the challenge is to keep the interview true.
