Princeton University Program in Creative Writing faculty members are among the longlisted authors in contention for 2015 National Book Awards in poetry and nonfiction.

Program Director Tracy K. Smith‘s memoir, Ordinary Light, and professor Susanna Moore‘s history of 18th century Hawaii, Paradise of the Pacific, are among the ten titles longlisted for the prize in nonfiction.

Heaven by Lecturer in Creative Writing Rowan Ricardo Phillips and The Beauty by Princeton alumna Jane Hirshfield ’73 are on the longlist for the award in Poetry.
