About

Hello! My name is Sarah. I’m a rising senior majoring in Computer Science with certificates in Dance and in Statistics and Machine Learning. My involvement in the arts at Princeton is as an avid observer as well as a dancer, choreographer and performance artist.

I’ve been dancing since a young age but in varying degrees. I’ve dabbled in a bunch of styles, mostly in Indian classical and Indian folk styles (I'm from New Delhi, India!). My experience in primarily non-balletic dance forms, combined with the fact that I hadn’t been training for almost 2 years when I got to Princeton, made me hesitant to dance on campus.

I can say with confidence, though, that I’m so so glad I did. I ended up taking dance repertory and choreography my freshman fall and every year since. The dance department has been so incredibly supportive and encouraging in helping me discover my creative voice. I've also found a home and family in my student dance companies.

I'm constantly in awe of the number and variety of performance opportunities on campus. And I've been very fortunate to have had the chance to participate in some of these (and to watch and support the others!). For this coming year, I'm really excited to be choreographing my senior creative thesis, co-directing the Vagina Monologues and to be dancing both on and off stage!!

Please please please reach out if you have the time! I would love to chat about any of my experiences/anything in this bio. More importantly though, I'd love to learn more about you and your thoughts and experiences. I'm not very good at writing bios but know that I'm here for you and that I wish Paul Schorin (peep his bio) could write this for me instead. Excited to talk to you soon (hopefully). Hugs!
