Established in 2012, Bernstein Arts Leadership Fellows supports student summer fellowships at prominent New York arts institutions.
Tanéyah Jolly ’24 (internship with the Public Theater)
Sabina Jafri ’24 (internship with One Nation/One Project: A National Arts and Wellness Initiative)
The Public Theater Fellowship
The fellow will support the Public Works team at the Public Theater creating large-scale, community-based theater for the Delacorte theater in Central Park. The fellow will work on the administrative and community-related tasks associated with preparing for a major summer production, aid in general arts administration, grassroots community organizing, and event planning and will also be intimately involved in the rehearsal and performance process.
The One Nation/One Project
The ON/OP fellow will aid in research/sourcing information, email and phone contact, scheduling, administrative duties, documentation, reporting, and presentation work as part of a small, cohesive team for One Nation/One Project. Co-founded by Lear deBessonet and Clyde Valentin, One Nation/One Project will bring together artists, cities, and community health centers to pilot a national arts and wellness project designed to leverage the proven benefits of arts engagement to foster holistic recovery, wellbeing, and social cohesion in communities across America. Inspired by the Federal Theater Project in 1936, One Nation/One Project brings together 18 communities that will work over 2 years to create bespoke pieces of public art that respond to the prompt “There’s No Place Like Home.”
