Professor of Visual Arts Jeff Whetstone and students in the spring visual arts/anthropology course “A River Runs Through Us” present an immersive installation documenting the Millstone River (aka Carnegie Lake) that runs through Princeton’s campus. Including sounds of water recorded onsite, sprigs harvested from the campus grounds by Facilities, and photographs documenting the environment, the project explores the evolution of rivers over time and how the river is “decorative yet problematic.” The focal point of the installation is a human-scale beaver lodge constructed by students.
The installation is on view in the CoLab at the Lewis Arts complex through March 26.
