As part of Princeton’s 2022 Wintersession offerings, actress/comedian, disability advocate, and Princeton Arts Fellow Maysoon Zayid shares her wisdom and experience to teach participants who identify as disabled how to advocate for themselves.
Maysoon has spent the past two decades fighting for her right to equal access. In this workshop, she shares her wisdom with the disability community at Princeton, so that they can avoid the same obstacles she faced. The goal of this workshop will be to teach participants who identify as disabled how to advocate for themselves. For many University students, this might be their first time having to advocate for themselves; for them, this workshop will be Disability Rights 101. Maysoon will arm participants with the knowledge necessary to destigmatize asking for accommodations. They will also be empowered to live their best lives and demand equal access not as a favor, but because it is the law.
All abilities are also welcome at this virtual workshop.
Presented by the Office of Wintersession.
