Join us for an intimate, insiders’ look at the new HBO serial documentary, The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst with director and Princeton alumnus Andrew Jarecki ’85. Robert Durst, scion of New York’s billionaire real estate family, has been accused of three murders but never convicted. Brilliant and reclusive, Durst has never spoken publicly — until now. Directed and produced by Andrew Jarecki, and produced and shot by Marc Smerling (the Academy Award-nominated filmmakers behind Capturing the Friedmans, Catfish, and All Good Things), The Jinx is the result of their seven-year investigation revealing secrets that have baffled authorities for 30 years. The evening begins with a reception at 6:00 p.m. with a screening of episodes 1 and 2 followed by a conversation with Jarecki and Lewis Center Chair Michael Cadden beginning about 8:15 p.m. The event will take place in the James M. Stewart ’32 Theater located on the first floor of 185 Nassau Street; admission is free and open to the public but advance reservations are recommended. Reserve tickets
