Events

A public audience is invited to join students enrolled in two fall French courses, “The Rise of France: French Literature, Culture and Society from the Beginnings to 1789” and “French Theater Workshop” in conversation with French actor and director Clément-Hervieu Léger.

Hervieu-Léger has been a member of the Comédie-Française since 2005. With theater company Compagnie des Petits-Champs that he co-directs with Daniel San Pedro, Hervieu-Léger has regularly staged plays outside the Comédie-Française. Une des dernières soirées de Carnaval by Carlo Goldoni is his most recent production, which premiered in the fall 2019 and earned the Grand Prix — Best Show Award of the Theater Season by Prix de la Critique 2019-2020. Audience members should view the video recording of the Une des dernières soirées de Carnaval show before attending the conversation.

The conversation will be in French. Organized by Flora Champy and Florent Masse.
