The Lewis Center for the Arts and the Program in Dance at Princeton University collaborate with the Aspen Institute to host Damian Woetzel, Director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program, and the 2014 Harman-Eisner Artist-in-Residence Lil Buck for a master class, performance, and discussion.

At 1:30 p.m. Memphis jookin’ star Lil Buck gives a master class in jookin’ for Princeton students that will be open to the public to observe in the Patricia and Ward Hagan ’48 Dance Studio at 185 Nassau Street. Seating is limited for the master class observation; email cr17@princeton.edu for reservations.

At 4:30 p.m. Lil Buck and Woetzel will present a conversation and performance demonstration in Frist Film/Performance Theater as these two collaborators, arts advocates, educators, and friends talk shop about being an artist in the 21st century. The conversation/performance is free but tickets are required and will be available to the public through University Ticketing at the Frist Campus Center ticket office or by calling 609.258.9220 beginning January 12.

Other events in the MASTERS OF DANCE series include an open rehearsal of choreography by Stephen Petronio performed by Princeton student dancers followed by a talk with Petronio and visual artist collaborator Janine Antoni on January 15; and a conversation with American Ballet Theater superstar Misty Copeland on February 16.
