Labyrinth Books and the Princeton Public Library invite you for a reading, conversation, and q&a with two brilliant prose writers and three old friends: Sam Lipsyte, whose new novel, Hark, is a dark comedy of personal and political collapse told with satirical brio and exacting attention to language, and Jana Martin, feminist cultural and music critic, and author of the fierce and hilarious story collection The Russian Lover and Other Stories. They will be joined in conversation by Labyrinth’s Virginia Harabin.

Sam Lipsyte is the author of the story collections Venus Drive and The Fun Parts and four novels: Hark, The Ask, The Subject Steve, and Home Land, which was a New York Times Notable Book and received the first annual Believer Book Award. He teaches at Columbia University.

Jana Martin is a fiction and nonfiction writer, activist and musician. She’s the author of numerous books and articles, including the acclaimed short story collection, Russian Lover and Other Stories. She has also contributed to a number of art and photography books, most recentlyWomen Who Rock.

Virginia Harabin is the General Manager of Labyrinth Books, a comic artist, and a writer.
