A reading of a new play, Sweet Mother, by Princeton senior Faith Iloka. Sweet Mother follows a Nigerian family who have recently immigrated to the United States. The play highlights the plight of a Nigerian mother, Ebere, who struggles to overcome domestic violence at the hands of her husband while caring for her three children. Most importantly, it centers on the mother-daughter relationship and how a mother’s survival is a daughter’s inspiration. This is a story of survival, faith, & healing. Directed by guest professional director Awoye Timpo.

The reading is free and open to the public and will be presented virtually on Zoom.
