Russia, 1895. By the shore of a lake, a daring new play is performed. Its idealistic young author is devastated when his work is mocked by his mother, a grand stage diva. Meanwhile, her lover, a famous novelist, has his eye on the country girl who dreams of a life in the theater. With ironic humor and piercing compassion, Anton Chekhov’s masterpiece explores the insatiable human desire to live an exceptional life. Featuring Program in Theater seniors Anna Aronson and Cameron Platt, directed by faculty member Mark Nelson.

Tickets: Purchased in advance $12/$11 students; days of performances $17/$15 students; Tiger Ticket eligible for Princeton students. Purchase online at tickets.princeton.edu.
