Alumni POV

Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri ’01

At age 14, INDRANI PAL-CHAUDHURI ’01 pursued her avid interest in photography by volunteering in a local photo studio. She started off in front of the camera, becoming a teen model before transitioning behind the scenes. Studying cultural anthropology at Princeton informed her already diverse perspective, which she applied to her craft of image-making. While still a student, her photography was discovered by David Bowie, leading to work photographing magazine and album covers for some of the world’s top celebrities including Bowie, Beyoncé, Kate Winslet, Lindsay Lohan, and Lady Gaga. More recently, Indrani has become a filmmaker, focusing her camera on both commercial and philanthropic subjects, with films shown in museums around the world.

In this Alumni POV, owner of Double Exposure Studios Indrani shares how her current work in these two very different sectors brings her satisfaction.
