Alumni POV

Silas Riener ’06

Silas Riener ’06 had never taken a dance class until his first with Ze’eva Cohen at Princeton. In her modern dance class, Riener wanted to learn “how to fly, because I was pretty convinced that’s what dancing was, and that I could do it.” Five short years later, he was dancing for the renowned Merce Cunningham Company. In this Alumni POV video, Riener discusses his mentoring relationships with Cunningham and Princeton dance faculty member Rebecca Lazier, and how he continues to passionately pursue that feeling of flight through dance.
