About

Nehassaiu deGannes is at home in both classical and contemporary worlds, has a passion for new work, and revels in the rich and dynamic experience of being cast both traditionally and non-traditionally.

Selected credits include: "Cordelia" KING LEAR Chicago Shakespeare Theater; "The Angel" MARISOL; "Nurse" EQUUS"  with Alec Baldwin; "Lady Capulet" ROMEO & JULIET, Stratford Festival; "Kate" GOOD PEOPLE, "Diana Sands" in DIANA SANDS: A CERTAIN TOUGHNESS OF SPIRIT (with Hope Clarke); "Catherine" PROOF, Trinity Rep.

Nehassaiu has worked with directors Tim Carroll, Tony Walton, Niegel Smith, Antoni Cimolino, Barbara Gaines, Brooke O'Harra, Amanda Dehnert, Tina Packer and Miles Potter; and has collaborated on developmental workshops and staged readings with NYC's Red Bull, Rattlestick, Classical Theatre of Harlem/ The Actress At Work, Dixon Place, Target Margin Theater and others. She received her MFA from Brown and is a graduate of Trinity Rep Conservatory.
