Hi! My name is Jamie Goodwin. I am a rising senior in the Philosophy Department pursuing a certificate in Theater. I am very excited to be your Peer Arts Advisor this upcoming year. On-campus, I am involved in Alpha Omega, a recently formed Christian group and the Religious Life Council, an interfaith group that addresses many different issues at the intersection of faith and public and private life. If I am not hanging with these two groups, you can find me in 2D, a vegetarian/vegan Co-Op on 2 Dickinson St. or studying in one of the cool Lewis Center for Arts (LCA) rooms.
However, it was really not until my sophomore year that I was exposed to the LCA, stumbling into the theater department. In high school, although I was really interested in musicals and plays, I only ever really was a theater-goer rather than a theater-maker. And it wasn’t until the spring of my first year that I was exposed to arts in college through an on-campus student theater group. I really enjoyed being a part of theater-making so I decided to take some courses in the theater department the following year. I really loved it, and soon I found myself completely lost in the world of theater.
I definitely wish that I had more guidance in my first year to the programs in the Lewis Center for the Arts so feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns or need guidance in navigating the world of Arts here. Once again, excited to meet all of you and help you to find your place in the arts.
