Jennifer Gilmore is the author of the novel Golden Country, a 2006 New York Times Notable Book, and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, the Harold U Ribalow Prize, and the National Jewish Book Award,and long-listed for the International IMPAC Dublin Prize, and Something Red also a New York Times Notable Book. Her third novel, The Mothers, was published by Scribner in April 2013. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in magazines and journals including Allure, Bomb, BookForum, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Salon, SELF, Tin House, Vogue and the Washington Post, and her personal essays have also been included in several anthologies including More New York Stories: The Best of the City Section of the New York Times, The Friend Who Got Away, and Bad Girls: 26 Writers Misbehave. She has been a MacDowell Colony fellow and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
