Kinohi Nishikawa is Associate Professor of English and African American Studies. He teaches and conducts research in modern African American literature, performance, and print culture. Nishikawa has published Street Players: Black Pulp Fiction and the Making of a Literary Underground (Chicago, 2018) and is at work on Black Paratext, a study of racial authorship and book design. "Black Pagecraft," his article on the typography of playwright Aleshea Harris's Is God Is, was published in the journal PMLA in May 2021.
