Hi! My name is Reed and I am a rising junior concentrating in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and pursuing certificates in Global Health and Theater. I am very excited to be one of your Peer Arts Advisors! Here at Princeton, I have been involved in several department productions as a designer and worked as Assistant Technical Director for Theatre Intime for two years. I primarily enjoy light and set design but also do some work in sound design, projection design, film, and photography.

I am originally from Washington D.C., where I got exposed to theater through high school and community theater. When coming to Princeton, I was extremely excited, but a bit overwhelmed, by the incredible arts scene. It was a bit scary to try and decide where and how to divide my time. Four years is truly so short. Especially with being pre-med, I was concerned that I wouldn’t have enough time to devote to the arts. Despite this trepidation, I pushed myself to do theater and absolutely fell in love. I would urge you to do the same. Doing both the arts and sciences is not only possible but, I would argue, necessary. Each side provides a fresh perspective to the other and makes you a more well-rounded and creative individual to tackle whatever your academic or professional interests may be. My current focus demonstrates this belief well: I am studying disparities in medical care access through the stories of underserved individuals as well as the professionals who work within the healthcare system for positive change. I hope to present a collection of these stories in an art installation.
