About

Hi! I’m Sophia and I’m a senior in the English Department, working towards a certificate in Creative Writing and fulfilling my pre-med requirements. Outside of the classroom, I’m on the swim team and I’m a Trenton Arts Fellow.

A bit more about me: I’m writing a fiction thesis, but I was mostly interested in poetry before coming to Princeton, so I love talking about either. I read a lot and I especially love science fiction. I was lucky enough to work at the Los Angeles Review of Books after my freshman year through the Pace Center’s Bogle Fellowship, and so I like to review what I read (check it out for good recs: www.studyhallreview.com). Also on that note, if you want to know about opportunities for arts and service or arts outreach, definitely talk to me! There are so many cool things to do!

I like to tell everyone that I have only taken STLs and LAs (which is no longer true), so I know that balancing science and the arts can be difficult at Princeton. My experience in the creative writing program has been one of the most intellectually rewarding parts of my time at school, and I’d love to help other students discover arts classes they never thought they would take. I had a lot of exposure to the arts when I was in middle and high school, but I know that not everyone has that opportunity. You don’t have to have any experience to take Lewis Center classes! My freshman year I took a Lewis Center class on designing video games without knowing anything about coding, and it remains one of my favorite classes that I’ve taken at Princeton.

Reach out to me if you want to talk about finding classes, service opportunities, course applications, books, professors, or anything at all!
