Steve has served as the Lewis Center's Director of Communications since 2011, managing a staff of 5 professionals to promote the courses, certificate programs, and more than 130 annual public events in Creative Writing, Dance, Music Theater, Theater, and the Princeton Atelier. In addition to overseeing communications strategy and planning, Steve is the primary writer and editor for the office.

Before coming to Princeton, Steve served for 20 years on the staff of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the last three as Executive Director, overseeing this agency of State government which promotes the arts and provides $16 million in public funding to artists and arts organizations statewide. He previously held the positions of Assistant Information Services Coordinator, Grants Manager, and Director of Programs and Services. He has also worked at Rutgers University in Camden as Assistant Director of the Summer Session and as Arts Development Coordinator and at a large architectural firm as Manager of Marketing Communications. Steve has a BFA in Visual Arts and a BA in Communications from Villanova University and pursued a masters in English at Rutgers with a concentration in creative writing. He performed with his college dance ensemble and, after a 25-year hiatus, recently returned to performing in community theater.
