Visual arts senior Eliana Gagnon presents a new body of work that interrogates the power of the gaze through portraiture using a variety of mediums. The artwork challenges onlookers to critically reflect on the inherent privilege that the exhibition viewer carries in their gaze. In addition, Gagnon examines the boundaries of the exhibition walls through use of negative space and illusions that consequently emerge.
