As a recipient of the Alex Adam ’07 Award, dance senior Storm Stokes spent the summer of 2023 pursuing movement research in L.A. and at international dance festivals in Italy, Germany, and Austria. Returning to campus, Stokes incorporated her learning into a unique collaboration with her cast of six dancers and visual artist Julia Stahlman ’24 to not only bring Stoke’s movement research to life but also to create roughly 100 pieces of individualized body castings. In this video, discover the physical and theoretical approach Storm took for her senior choreographic project, i, heresy, which premiered February 29, 2024, in the Hearst Dance Theater at the Lewis Arts complex.
