Join songwriter, storyteller and Princeton Arts Fellow Kamara Thomas and ensemble for a virtual watch-party and feedback session, featuring the replay of the ensemble’s performance of Thomas’s multidisciplinary storytelling work Tularosa: An American Dreamtime at Princeton’s Richardson Auditorium this past April.
Thomas released the Tularosa album in 2022 and is a recipient of a 2022 MAPFund grant for the development of the Tularosa “storywork,” an exploration of American cultural identity and the mythology of the American West. Thomas’s work is collaborative and site-specific—this performance weaves together music, theater, ritual and archetypal visual elements in direct response to Richardson Auditorium and was the first of two site-specific iterations of Tularosa that Thomas will present during her fellowship at Princeton.
The performance is approximately one hour and will be immediately followed by a 20-minute audience feedback session.
