In this communal, we-are-all-as-confused-as-everyone-else workshop, Gutierrez will guide participants through physical/conceptual/interactive experiences that unearth, in real time, his dynamic and ongoing interests in “presence,” turbulence, group power, individual agency, queer answers to straight questions, the conflict of having expressive capabilities, the weirdness of living in a body among other bodies, and performance. Activities include moving, emoting, shutting down, writing, witnessing, talking. Open to anyone who wants to join regardless of movement/performance experience.

Held in the Patricia and Ward Hagan ’48 Dance Studio, from 12:30-2:20 p.m. Presented in conjunction with the dance course DAN214: Being and Doing taught by Aynsley Vandenbroucke.
