Princeton University’s senior class has selected 13 individuals as honorary members of the Class of 2020. Every year, the graduating class inducts honorary class members to commemorate faculty, staff, alumni and others who have left a particularly profound impact on their class.
Among this year’s honorary class members is Mario Moore, a Lecturer in Visual Arts and recent 2018-19 Hodder Fellow. The Work of Several Lifetimes, Moore’s acclaimed exhibition of etchings, drawings, and large-scale portraits of black men and women who work at or around the Princeton campus in blue collar jobs, was on display throughout the fall of 2019 in the Hurley Gallery at the Lewis Arts complex.
“We are pleased to invite Mario into the Class of 2020 for his dedication to honoring diversity on our campus,” the students said.
One of Moore’s portrait subjects, longtime Princeton University Athletics facility crewperson Garfield Brown, was also selected as an honorary class member for his work supporting athletes on campus.
