On October 25, 2023, more than 40 entrepreneurial alumni, students and guests attended a “Theatre-Infused Workshop: Elevating Your Pitch with Storytelling” event held at Alumni Ventures Group in Manhattan and presented by the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC), the Lewis Center for the Arts and McCarter Theatre Center. Part of PEC’s TigerTalks series, the 90-minute workshop was led by Founder of Shared Story Consulting Josh Tobiessen and Director of Education at McCarter Theater Brook Boertzel, who guided attendees through a series of writing, movement and speaking exercises designed to refine pitching techniques and delivery. Tobiessen and Boertzel demonstrated how the same tools an actor uses to prepare for a performance can be applied to entrepreneurs and business leaders to hone presentation skills, develop confidence when speaking, and craft a compelling story that motivates and inspires audiences.
