Emily Pietruszka
About
Emily Pietruszka is a professional dance artist, teacher, and trainer. She began performing professionally in 2015 after graduating with her BFA in Dance from The University of Colorado at Boulder. Since 2018 she has been touring for the renowned street dance theater company, Rennie Harris Puremovement. Pietruszka has shown her own work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the “Illadelph” street dance festival, “The Come Together Festival” hosted by Koresh Dance, “Here and Now vol. II” hosted by W.O.R.X, and as a guest choreographer at Franklin & Marshall College (PA). Emily has taught and guest lectured in various contexts including Mark Morris Dance Group (Brooklyn, NY), New Visions for Public Schools (Queens, NY), California State University, The Juilliard School (New York, NY), The Ailey School (New York, NYC), and for Rennie Harris University’s street dance certification program. Currently residing in Philly, she trains with local popping group FGK (@funkygunzcrew) and teaches at Philadelphia’s own street dance education studio, Urban Movement Arts. Emily operates her own online personal training business, Embodied by Em, and she is the co-founder of Snack Break (@snackbreaklivearts), a project-based duo created in 2020 that specializes in street dance made for the concert stage.
