Michael Moore
About
MICHAEL MOORE, a translator and interpreter from Italian, is Princeton University’s Translator in Residence for the spring 2018 semester by the Program in Translation and Intercultural Communication (PTIC).
Moore has translated novels by Alberto Moravia, Primo Levi, Nicola Gardini, Erri de Luca and other modern and contemporary authors. During his residency, he will be completing a new translation of Alessandro Manzoni’s classic novel, I Promessi Sposi (“The Betrothed”). He will also contribute to the teaching of the course “Creative Writing (Literary Translation)” among others courses, and will advise and assist the campus community’s aspiring and practicing translators.
Moore earned a master’s degree in comparative literature from Pennsylvania State University and a doctoral degree in Italian from New York University.
