A Note from the Thesis Proposer
Upon first hearing about the theory of three loves, I immediately thought “wow, that could be a cool musical idea” – little did I know what that initial idea could become! As I dove deeper into shaping this show, I have thought a lot about the ideas of love and growth. I have especially considered how we as people are a culmination of all of our experiences. This show mainly follows one person’s journey through navigating the intricacies of love over time, and demonstrates progression through these various loves. Regardless of whether an experience is positive or negative, there is some impact or something gained that can be carried onto future experiences. This show is just one view into that concept. While I may have had some moments in this show that are… let’s say “inspired”… by some elements of my life, a lot of these moments are relatable depictions of coming of age and learning through love. Especially as a young adult, I am hoping that aspects of this show resonate with the college experience, but also transfer beyond that into a broader sense of self-growth.
I want to thank everyone who has touched this production in some way: the production team for keeping me logistically sane, the cast for their beautiful storytelling and talent, the pit for their incredible playing capabilities, my advisors for their encouragement and guidance, as well as my friends and family who have listened to me talk about this endlessly for providing support throughout the process. Finally, thank you for coming to support this show, and I hope you enjoy!

An estimated 10 million Native Americans lived in North America before the arrival of European colonizers. Many thousands lived in Lenapehoking, the vast homeland of the Lenni-Lenape, who were the first inhabitants of what is now called eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware.
Princeton stands on part of the ancient homeland and traditional territory of the Lenape people. In 1756, the College of New Jersey erected Nassau Hall with no recorded consultation with the Lenni-Lenape peoples.
Treaties and forced relocation dispersed Lenape-Delaware to Ohio, Kansas, and Oklahoma. We acknowledge the violence of settler colonialism and pay respect to Lenape peoples past, present, and future and their continuing presence in the homeland and throughout the Lenape diaspora.
