The artists of “The Ceremony is You,” a fall course taught by edi kwon and crosslisted among music, dance, theater and visual arts, present an embodied ritual performance created collaboratively in the final weeks of the fall 2023 semester. An interdisciplinary work threading sound, music, dance, embodied movement, text, and collective visualization, the work draws from each artist’s personal and cultural histories, as well as from an emergent group practice cultivated over the course of the semester. Representing diverse academic disciplines and cultural lineages, the unique artists of The Ceremony is You have converged to share a once-in-a-moment collaborative work and invite you to enter the space of presence.
