Princeton students perform a concert of songs with music and lyrics written over the past semester as part of the spring Princeton Atelier course “How to Write a Song” co-taught by Bridget Kearney of the band Lake Street Dive and Bartees Strange, named "Must-Hear Indie Artist of the Month" by Billboard. On the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the ravenous hurricane that decimated New Orleans, we come together in remembrance, tribute and dreams for resurrection. Co-faculty in the spring Princeton Atelier course, artists Patricia Smith, Davalois Fearon, and Paloma McGregor have led students in a collaborative creative process to build performance through poetry, dance, music, and visual art, inspired by Smith’s monumental book of poetry, Blood Dazzler. The April 25 event is a developmental staging of a new, multidisciplinary work-in-progress. Open to public; no tickets required.
