This co-curricular class series, curated by dance program alum Liam Lynch ’21, develops a diverse understanding of foundational techniques in street and club dance. With an emphasis on physical techniques, the class exposes dancers to a multitude of dance styles including hip-hop, house, and popping. Through the sessions, students will understand the basic techniques of street dance and will also be challenged to synthesize elements of groove, musicality, texture, footwork, and personal expression in their own individual improvisation. All experience levels welcome.
About the Guest Teacher: Tatiana Desardouin

Of Haitian origin, born and raised in Switzerland, Tatiana is a recognized dancer from the international street & club dance scene. She is the founder, director and choreographer of Passion Fruit Dance Company (since 2016). Deeply community oriented, Tatiana has been teaching and mentoring since 2005 and has developed her own teaching method called “Technique Within Your Groove.” She has taught as an adjunct faculty member and guest artist at several universities including Harvard, The Five College Consortium, and elsewhere. In 2022, Tatiana won the Bessie Juried Award and received the Vilcek Foundation Prize for “Creative Promise in Dance.”
