Grammy and Emmmy Award-winning musical director/composer and vocal coach Paul Bogaev gives a master class for Princeton students in context of the spring course, “Race and the American Musical from Minstrelsy to Hamilton,” led by Professor of Theater Stacy Wolf.

Paul Bogaev is a Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Music Director, Producer, and Arranger whose film credits include the Oscar-Winning CHICAGO, NINE, DREAMGIRLS, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, MULAN, and THE LION KING. Among his many Broadway credits are AIDA, TARZAN, BOMBAY DREAMS, SUNSET BOULEVARD, LES MISERABLES, SPIDER MAN, and most recently, VIVA MIXTIA. For television, he was music director of CINDERELLA, ANNIE and SOUTH PACIFIC.
In his Song Performance Master Classes, Mr. Bogaev focuses on song performance, vocal technique and audition material for the shows that are being produced in theatre today. He works with any musical selection, whether that is audition material, callback material or cabaret material. He has also helped Opera Singers crossover into the Contemporary Musical Theater world.
