Sylvia Khoury’s plays include Selling Kabul (Playwrights Horizons, Williamstown Theater Festival), Power Strip (LCT3), and Against the Hillside (Ensemble Studio Theater). Her plays have been commissioned and developed by Lincoln Center, Williamstown Theater Festival, Seattle Repertory Theater, the Lark, Eugene O’Neill Playwrights’ Conference, EST/Youngblood and WP Theater. Khoury's awards include a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize (Selling Kabul), Whiting Award in Drama, L. Arnold Weissberger Award, and Jay Harris Commission and Citation of Excellence from the Laurents/Hatcher Awards. In 2025, she received the Benjamin H. Danks Award, given to an exceptional young playwright, from The American Academy of Arts and Letters. She holds an M.D. from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, an M.F.A. from the New School for Drama, and a B.A. from Columbia University.
