Once on campus Princeton University’s free and frequent TigerTransit shuttle system is fully open to the public and operates on a fixed route schedule, providing safe, convenient, and reliable transportation throughout the Princeton campus and surrounding community. There are TigerTransit stops located at most major academic and administrative buildings, commuter parking lots, and housing facilities. The A, D, E, F, H, S and W lines stop at Princeton Station or the Theater Drive Garage, both adjacent to the Arts Complex and Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center. The D, E and H lines stop at 201 Nassau St., next door to 185 Nassau St. View schedule and routes of shuttle buses. TigerTransit On-demand Service is available by calling 609.258.RIDE (7433) / Seven days a week, 10 pm–3 am (academic year only). Taxis are also available from the train station.
Princeton University also offers a TigerAccess transit system with curb-to-curb transportation for University visitors, students, and faculty members with mobility-related disabilities or medical conditions. There is currently one van in circulation, which operates within the same schedule and stops for TigerTransit buses. Users are asked to schedule trips 24 hours in advance to ensure the van’s availability, but TigerAccess will complete last-minute requests if the time slot is available. Users can schedule a TigerAccess ride by submitting a request form listed on the Transportation and Parking Services website, or through the TripShot app. The vehicle holds up to three passengers (two in the case that one is using a wheelchair or mobility device), and is service dog friendly and wheelchair accessible by lift or ramp. When servicing visually impaired riders, drivers will announce stops as the van approaches its destination.
Northbound NJ TRANSIT trains passing through Princeton Junction provide direct service to New York City and Newark Liberty International Airport. A southbound transfer to the SEPTA regional rail Trenton Line train at Trenton provides service to Philadelphia.
Amtrak trains connect Princeton Junction to Washington, D.C., Boston and the broader region.
