Shaping the Stage: A Data-Driven Revolution in American Theater

Theater&…AI predicting a successful show features a presentation on a project conceived, created and engineered by Princeton senior Kira Fitzgerald entitled, Shaping the Stage: A Data-Driven Revolution in American Theater. Fitzgerald explores the intersection of big data, predictive modeling, and machine learning in the American theater industry taking the audience on a journey through the potential and pitfalls of leveraging data to forecast Broadway show success, while critically examining the unintended perpetuation of historical inequities. Lying at the intersection of theater and computer science, this presentation offers insights into ethical considerations, job impacts, and the broader implications for the industry as she explores this previously understudied intersection.
