Join members of the famed comedy troupe Baby Wants Candy and students in the fall Princeton Atelier course, “Creating Comedy for Television,” for an evening of original comedy readings. Professional Hollywood actors will present a table reading via Zoom of Baby Wants Candy’s latest comedy pilot, Cult Following. Written by Chris Grace, Cult Following shows how Andrea, a struggling documentarian, turns her helpless high school friend into a cult leader while facing the moral dilemma of filming it at the same time. Event also includes a reading in-person by professional actors of Broke-Inn, the TV pilot written by the class as a group over the course of the semester. Broke-Inn explores the adventures and relationships of the employees at a seedy Las Vegas motel, focusing on Jane, a young writer who grows into an artist with the help of her found family. In addition, the actors will read scenes from pilots written by individual students in the course.
