Book by Vanessa Dunleavy
Music & Lyrics by Miranda Ferriss Jones
Orchestrations by Simon Brouke
Gabby Veciana ’24 leads a reading of a new musical written by Miranda Jones and Vanessa Dunleavy. Showing Up is the semi-semi- autobiographical tale of longtime friends, Miranda and Vanessa. This funny, heartfelt and honest musical tracks their journey from high school besties in small town America through their move to the big city to pursue their dreams of Broadway and beyond. Along the way, they encounter success and disappointment, the loss of old dreams and the creation of new ones. Their friendship is tested every step of the way, but more often than not, it is their saving grace.
This new work in development is directed by Chloe Webster ’25, features Charlotte Kunesh ’24 and Gabriela Veciana ’24, and is accompanied by Jay White ’24.
Supported in part by the Roger S. Berlind ’52 Playwright-in-Residence Fund.
