Students in the fall Princeton Atelier course, “Spatial Sound: Story and Image,” co-taught by artists Laurie Anderson and Arto Lindsay and assisted by Music graduate student Chris Douthitt, share installations, compositions and performances created during the semester. The course explored non-traditional approaches to placing sound in space with special attention to the dynamics of short stories, parades, suspended grammar, psychic states, animal consciousness, and depth of field in sound and film, with students creating spatial sound works and participating in the work of Anderson and Lindsay.
Work will be shown in the theater and dance studios located on the first floor of New South building.
The event is free and open to Princeton University students, faculty and staff. Audiences are invited to come and go throughout the afternoon.
