Minor Music at the End of the World

October 3-5, 2025, The International Theater Amsterdam (ITA)
November 2024 at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)

Minor Music at the End of the World is a performance in three movements based on Saidiya Hartman’s acclaimed essays “The End of White Supremacy: An American Romance” and “Litany for Grieving Sisters.” Tina Campt helped long-term collaborator Hartman transform her essays into this stage performance. “The Collaboratorium hosted an early workshop to incubate one part of the project at Princeton,” said Campt, “and we staged an open rehearsal of the second part of the project at Brooklyn Academy of Music. The work has evolved a lot over the past year and we’re very excited about the world premiere in Amsterdam.” Campt moderated a post-show conversation about the performance on October 5 in Amsterdam along with other events listed below. Commissioned and presented by Hartwig Art Foundation.
