Events

The Program in Theater & Music Theater welcomes back professional alumni Sam Gravitte ’17 (Wicked on Broadway) and Runako Campbell ’21 (Jagged Little Pill on Broadway) to offer drop-in coaching sessions. Students are encouraged to bring songs, auditions, monologues, dance, and more to work on with Sam and Runako.

Spring 2024 Class Schedule

  • February 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Drapkin StudioSam Gravitte
    For this first drop-in coaching session, Sam encourages students to bring what they’d like to work on and to come as they are! Songs, monologues, auditions, and scenes are welcome. This session follows Princeton Summer Theater’s meet-and-greet.

About the Alumni Guest Artists

Runako Campbell is a New York City based performing artist. As a dancer, actor, and collaborator, her commitment to storytelling shines both on stage and on screen. Her career spans across Broadway, film, television, contemporary dance, recording artists, commercials, opera, and beyond. She made her Broadway debut in Jagged Little Pill directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Her credits also include dancing in The Hours and Lohengrin at The Metropolitan Opera and working on theater projects in development with directors Rachel Chavkin, Christopher Ashley, Leigh Silverman, Kenny Leon, Sheryl Kaller, and Josh Prince, to name a few. Runako has performed for Vogue New York Fashion Week, recording artist Jack Harlow, Good Morning America, and she has done commercials for brands including Taco Bell, Crunch Fitness, Capital One, and Visit Panamá. She has worked on various dance projects throughout New York City with choreographers and directors including Teddy Bergman, Mayte Natalio, Lauren and Chris Grant, Ellenore Scott, and Shannon Lewis. Runako graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University with a degree in African-American Studies and a certificate in dance.

Sam Gravitte (he/him) is a New York City based writer and actor. On Broadway, Sam starred in the role of “Fiyero” as part of the cast that reopened Wicked after the pandemic shuttered theaters for eighteen months. Other major acting credits include White Rose Off Broadway (Frederick Fischer), the Wicked national tour (Fiyero u/s), Sweeney Todd at TUTS (Anthony Hope), the original cast of Almost Famous at the Old Globe Theatre (Dennis Hope), and more. Development work includes work with Bart Sher, Trip Cullman, Callie Khouri, Neko Case, Tom Kitt, Kent Nicholson, and others. He recently penned and starred in the short film The Root. As a playwright, Sam’s play Hurricane is a current Semifinalist for the 2024 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, and he has other plays published by Broadway Licensing. He is a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio and graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Anthropology and certificates in theater and music theater.
