Explore the technical capacities of the LCA and learn how you can incorporate them into your work. Each session will be focused on a different aspect of design and production for live performances.

Fall 2024 Class Schedule

September 4 — Try on Stage Management

6-8 PM in the Light Lab, 2nd floor of Wallace Dance Building, Lewis Arts complex

Try on the role of a Stage Manager in this hands-on drop-in event. Led by LCA staff members Carmelita Becnel and Milan Eldridge.

September 5 — Technical Tour of the Wallace Theater

6-8 PM in Wallace Theater, Forum of Lewis Arts complex

Explore sound and lighting in the Wallace theater at this hands-on drop-in event. Led by LCA staff members Kay Richardson and Matt Pilsner.

September 14 — Intro to Fight and Intimacy

11 AM – 2 PM in Drapkin Studio, 2nd floor of Wallace Dance Building, Lewis Arts complex

Explore the foundations for physicality on stage in this 3-hour workshop led by Sean McCarther.

September 23 — Blood and Gore and So Much More

6-8 PM in Costume Shop, mezzanine level of Wallace Dance Building, Lewis Arts complex

Just in time for the Halloween season, come explore the art of special effects makeup at this hands-on, drop-in event led by LCA staff member Miriam Patterson.

September 24 — How to Write a Light Cue

6-8 PM in the Light Lab, 2nd floor of Wallace Dance Building, Lewis Arts complex

Try writing lighting cues and learn about the design tools available at the LCA in this hands-on, drop-in event led by Lecturer in Theater Tess James.

October 21 — Intro and Advanced Light Board Programming

6-9:30 PM in Wallace Theater, Forum of Lewis Arts complex

Experiment with the different features of our in-house lighting consoles in this two-part, drop-in workshop. Intro to Programming held from 6-7 PM; Advanced level held from 8-9:30 PM. Led by Lecturer in Theater Tess James.
